Sophie Vroegop (viola) started to learn the violin with Anneke Schilt when she was 5, continuing with Hans Scheepers from when she was 12. After secondary school, she went on to study Ancient History and Archaeology in Scotland as a music scholar, which made it possible for her to have weekly violin and viola lessons with W. Baxter and F. Hetherington. This allowed her to develop musically next to her other studies, and led her to pursue a career as a violist. In May 2017, she graduated from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, where she studied with Mikhail Zemtsov and she will continue to study there for a Masters in Music. Sophie is active in many chamber music ensembles and orchestras, and often performs with her string quartet the Belinfante Quartet.
