Marco Ramírez Ocaña
Marco Ramírez began his violin studies at the age of 7 in Málaga. He finished his Early Diploma in 2009 at the “Manuel Carra” Music School with professor Pilar Ramírez. In 2013, he completed his Bachelors degree in Málaga with professor Sergio Martínez. Afterwards, he received his Master Diploma in 2015 in ArtEZ Conservatorium (Zwolle, Netherlands), with professor Sarah Kapustin. Currently, Marco is pursuing a Bachelors degree in viola with professor Julia Dinerstein at ArtEZ Conservatorium.
In the chamber music field, he was violinist in “Hidalgo String Quartet”, with whom he won first prize in Benalgabón Chamber Music Contest in 2012. He is a founding member of the Iberus Quartet and of Libero Strijkorkest.
In addition he has collaborated with various youth and professional orchestras such as Orkest van het Oosten (Netherlands), Ciconia Consort (Den Haag), Noordpool Orkest (Groningen), OSPM (Málaga Symphonic Orchestra), OJA (Andalucia Young Orchestra) and JOBA (Andalucia Young Baroque Orchestra).
Since September 2015 he combines his two greatest passions: young musicians and teaching. Marco is conductor/leader of “Het Benjamin Strijorkest” in Zwolle (Netherlands).
