Irene del Prado Cortés

Irene was born in Córdoba, Spain in 1991. She started her violin studies at the age of 7 in her hometown, where she studied with Pedro Cabanillas. Then she moved to Granada and studied her Bachelor with professor Pablo Martos.
She has received masterclasses and lessons from violinists such as Danuta Glowacka-Pittet, Andras Czifra, Zorik Tatevosyan, Fabian López, Michael Barenboim, Barry Sargent, Juan Luis Gallego, David Mata, Vladimir Dmitrenco, Gregory Ahss and Benzion Shamir among others.
Irene has been a member of the Andalucía Youth Orchestra (OJA) between 2011 and 2016, where she has had the opportunity of playing with conductors such as José Luis Temes, Manuel Hernández Silva, Pedro Halffter, Laurent Couson, Michel Piquemal, Lorenzo Ramos and Juan de Udaeta.
She is member of the Córdoba Youth Orchestra (OJC), Ad Libitum Orchestra, and Ljubljana International Orchestra (LIO), and she has collaborated with professional and semi-professional orchestras such as the Córdoba Orchestra (OC), City of Granada Orchestra (OCG), Hispanian Symphony Orchestra and Goya Orchestra. She has done internships with Het Orkest van het Oosten (Enschede) and Het Gelders Orkest (Arnhem), and she was a member of the project “Side by side: RCO meets Europe” of The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Ljubljana in 2016.
Irene is currently studying a Master in ArtEZ Conservatorium (Zwolle) with professor Sarah Kapustin.
